Replication Cancelled – Snapshot Revert
Replication Cancelled – Snapshot Revert
This article applies to JSDR software version 4.1 and below.
Issue
This is an example of replication being cancelled for a protected VM.
Cause
This issue can occur if a snapshot revert happens on a protected VM.
Reverting to a snapshot of a protected VM will result in protection being cancelled. This condition is indicated in the user interface, as illustrated:
The storage policy will not be automatically detached, requiring the user to manually delete old snapshots and remove the cancelled protection (which can be done through the user interface).
If a snapshot already exists, it will not be possible to “un-protect” the VM.
In such case, it will be necessary to:
1) Manually delete the old snapshot.
2) Un-protect the VM.
3) Re-protect the VM.
