Modifying MSA DNS Server IP Address and Hostname

This article applies to all JSDR software versions.

This article describes how modify the MSA DNS server IP address and hostname.

Before making changes to the following files, be sure to verify the current status of the MSA.

Update DNS IP

  • Log in to the MSA as root

    • Modify the file /etc/resolv.conf

  • Restart the MSA to make the modification take effect.

Update Hostname

  • Log in to the MSA as root

    • Modify the file /etc/hostname

  • Restart the MSA to make the modification take effect.

 

Avoid making changes to the DNS IP and hostname if the MSA is part of a production environment with protected VMs.
