Replication was cancelled for a protected VM.

This issue could occur if a Snapshot revert happens on a protected VM.

Cause of the issue:

Reverting to a snapshot of a protected VM will result in protection being cancelled. This condition will be indicated in the user interface. However, the storage policy will not be automatically detached, requiring the user to manually delete old snapshots and remove the cancelled protection (which can be done through the user interface).

Unable to un-protect the VM if a snapshot exists.

Users have to Manually Delete the old snapshot, un-protect the VM and re-protect it to fix the issue.

Note: This article is applicable for 4.1.x version and below.

This behaviour of the protection status indicating failure upon snapshot revert has been resolved starting from version 4.2.x.
