Problem: According to the task log, the Failover task failed with the following error.

"Failed to retrieve internal network IP Address of DR Virtual Appliance VM. Timed-out waiting for IP Address"

  • In this circumstance, we are unable to perform a Failback, and we are unable to see the VMs in both (primary and recovery vCenter).

Cause: This could happen if we select the wrong network under the "Recovery VA." menu at the time of failover. 

Resolution: Restart the Failover process from recover vCenter JetDR and specify the right network name in the "Recovery VA" menu.

Note:

  • It is important that we give accurate network information.

  • For the following (Recovery VA), we must specify the network name.

"Replication Network to Object Store", "Host (IO-filter) to DRVA Data Network", and "Management Network".

Note: The error message will be improvised by Engineering to reference RocVA.
