🤔 Problem

While running a Cmdlet on the AVS Private Cloud, you may encounter the error “User does not have authorization to perform action” and execution will be immediately terminated.

🌱 Solution

Cmdlet run command failure can happen if the user does not have the correct privileges to perform the task.

  1. Log in to the AVS private cloud with the affected user account and validate correct privileges have been assigned.

  2. Verify if the contributor privilege exists for the user.

    • If not, temporarily assign contributor privilege to the user account which will grant complete access on the private cloud.

To apply contributor privileges, navigate to the following:
Home → Privileged Identity Management → My roles → Azure resources

After applying contributor privileges, re-run the Cmdlet to verify if the run command operates properly.

If you still encounter problems after assigning contributor privileges, engage Microsoft for additional guidance.
