Ownership of a protected domain (including the VMs and data contained within it) can shift between the local protected site or the remote recovery site depending upon the action currently being performed. The following screen shots illustrate various ownership states of a protected domain.
Local
Protected domain is created at owner site when it shows “ LOCAL “.
Remote
Protected domain is imported when it shows “ REMOTE “ for owner site.
Continuous Failover
Remote ownership of a protected domain that operating in Continuous Failover (CFO) mode.
