Problem: According to the task log, the Failover task failed with the following error.

"Failed to retrieve internal network IP Address of DR Virtual Appliance VM. Timed-out waiting for IP Address"

  • In this circumstance, we are unable to see the VMs in both (primary and recovery vCenter). This is because in the JetDR 4.1.x version and below the Domain ownership transfer happens once the pre-check succeeded in the event of a failover.

Cause: This could happen if we select the wrong network under the "Recovery VA." menu at the time of failover or if the selected network has a DHCP lease issue.

Resolution: Restart the Failover process from recover vCenter JetDR and specify the right network name in the "Recovery VA" menu.

Note:

  • It is important that we give accurate network information.

  • For the following (Recovery VA), we must specify the network name.

"Replication Network to Object Store", "Host (IO-filter) to DRVA Data Network", and "Management Network".

Note: The error message will be improvised by Engineering to reference RocVA.
