In the above example of the MSA log, a communication failure is identified which needs to be corrected by restarting CIM services on ESXi hosts.

  • In the AVS environment, this can be accomplishing by executing the Run-command Command Resolve-ClusterIssue.

  • Start VM protection again and the task should proceed without the error.

Note

ESXi 6.7 is known to have CIM-related issues that can cause the above issue. This type of problem is typically not seen in ESXi 7.0 & later.
