Replication Log Socket Error

Replication Log Socket Error

This article applies to all JSDR software versions.

Problem

A socket error may be encountered while creating the replication log on local or shared storage.

Solution

Do the the following to resolve the issue:

  • Attempt a storage re-scan on all hosts from the storage adapters, then try adding the replication log again through the MSA GUI.

  • If the issue persists, check the journal log for any error messages.
To find the journal entries from DRVA → journalctl -p7 | tail -n 30

  • If errors related to JetStream DR or the journal are detected, it is likely there is mismatch of the storage initiator/target configuration.

    • Check the configuration of all hosts to ensure they are accurate and consistent.

If using shared storage, this issue may be caused the the mis-configuation of a single host. Be sure to check all attached hosts and fix any problems discovered.
