While running Cmdlet on AVS private cloud, you might see error “User does not have authorization to perform action” immediately and fail the execution.

\uD83C\uDF31 Solution

Cmdlet run command failure can happen when user does not have enough privileges.

  1. Login to AVS private cloud using the user account and validate assigned privileges

  2. Verify if contributor privileges exist if not we need to assign temporarily contributor privilege which grants all access on the private cloud.

  3. Steps to activate contributor privileges

  4. Home → Privileged Identity Management → My roles → Azure resources

Re-run the Cmdlet after user account has contributor privileges and run command will go through. Incase if it still fails then engage MS for guidance.
