The Background data is not coming down which means the VM I/O is not able to replicate to the Object store.

In the below scenario, we observed the (remaining BG data) never came down.

Let's know more about Background Replication field.

The process of reading existing data from the virtual disk at the protected site and copying it to the recovery site.

This issue could happen for multiple reasons.

  • Replication Log volume full

The replication log and metadata has no space left.

  • Replication not progressing

The Replication is not processing but stuck due to disruption between DRVA and Object store and the same can be checked from incoming and outgoing data rate graphs.

  • Replication is too slow

The Replication is too slow due to a network bandwidth, this can be investigated further by checking the DRVA VM network statistics.

References: Please refer the below KB if a Replication log volume is full.
